DynaEnergetics Obtains Fourth Independent Assessment of its Intrinsically Safe Detonating Technology
TROISDORF, GERMANY (April 20, 2016) - DynaEnergetics recently received results of an independent third party assessment of the company’s intrinsically safe detonating technology. The assessment was performed by Franklin Applied Physics, PA, USA and is an extension of DynaEnergetics’ ongoing commitment to the highest level of oilfield worker safety during perforating operations. The study complements previous detonator testing by three different independent laboratories.
The American Petroleum Institute (API) recommended practice (RP) Number 67 establishes certain radio frequency (RF) requirements for safe operation of detonators and igniters. The assessment was completed for the following DynaEnergetics detonators: the 0015 FDE, the DynaSelect 0015 SFDE and the DynaStage 0015 TFSFDE. Also assessed were two igniters: the Electronic Igniter for Setting Tool (EIST) and the Electronic GO Style Setting Tool Igniter. Each of these products features DynaEnergetics’ intrinsically safe detonating technology, and the independent assessment concluded that all meet, and in fact exceed by a significant safety factor, the safety requirements of API RP-67 especially that of RF-safety.
